Park User Survey Analysis
Thanks to the nearly 800 people who gave their input as part of the Shelby User Survey. We are sharing high-level analysis, and we are thoroughly reviewing all of the individual comments. Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms will use this information as we plan for new projects and advocacy efforts throughout the park. See the results.
Shelby Bottoms Trail Maintenance
Throughout the winter months (December through March), Metro Parks Maintenance staff will be working on trimming back brush from paved and primitive trails throughout Shelby Bottoms. This work is important for the safety of all trail users, and while it can be a bit shocking to see the trimming, just wait for next season's blackberry crop!
The Great Shelby Park Pickup a Success!
Thanks to everyone who came out to do the dirty work of picking up trash in the park. We found everything from tires to mattresses and even had some folks wade into Lake Sevier to grab trash from stream runoff.
January Trail Maintenance
Winter weather can wreak havoc on our primitive trails. Join us this January as we work to improve trails in Shelby Bottoms. The date has not yet been set, but if you want to be notified about this and other upcoming opportunities be sure to sign up on our website
Please remember bikes are not permitted on primitive trails in Shelby Bottoms. Tires cause ruts and make trails unstable for walkers. Thanks for your compliance!
