This Giving Tuesday we are giving back to the Shelby Park Community Center and we need your help.

The Shelby Park Community Center is a central part of our community: supporting youth during summer enrichment and after school programming, providing a place to play indoor soccer, basketball and roller skate, and hosting our most civic institution as a voting precinct.

Built in 1963, there are many features in the center that need repair and updates, but none more than the cabinets and counters in the kitchen, art room, and club room. These cabinets and counters have seen a lot and been loved to pieces. Replacing them with commercial-grade materials that will last for another 60 years is not a small project.

With the help of amazing local partners Friends of Shelby has secured donations for nearly 75% of this $11,000 project, including a $2500 donation from the Lockeland Springs Neighborhood Association. We need your help to raise the remaining $2800 to complete this project – for all the art classes, birthday parties, and cooking demonstrations yet to come.

This December 1, join us in support of the center at the heart of our community and give what you can!
