Shelby Park Bald Eagle
Spotted perched high along the Cumberland River, this bald eagle has been hanging around since early fall. Bald eagles live across North America. Northern birds are migratory while southern birds remain in their territory year-round. Keep an eye out for the testing site - maybe they'll be some eaglets this spring.

Sevier Lake Loop Update
The loop is not complete! After great progress in 2020 with the installation of the new bridge and gravel trail, there are 1000 feet of the trail still to be completed. Thanks to our friends at W&A Engineering, Friends of Shelby now has a survey of the area and we will begin work with a traffic engineer this spring to create a paving and striping plan to safely connect the last section of trail.
Thanks again to everyone who donated during the Big Payback. We hope you are enjoying the improvements so far!
