Shelby Park and Bottoms is our community oasis. Please continue safety efforts while visiting the park: keep your distance, wash hands, and avoid peak times.

Playgrounds, picnic shelters, courts, and dog parks remain closed.

While facilities are closed, find a new trail to explore.

Park Updates

Bridge Work Underway

Vehicular bridges on Davidson Street (1) and Shelby Park Drive (2) are now closed for reconstruction. Traffic is being redirected across the dam at the south end of Lake Sevier. The project is expected to take 18 to 24 weeks.

Shelby Bottoms Bridge

Crews are finishing work on the approaches to Bridge #5 in Shelby Bottoms. Final paving should be complete within 4 weeks. Thanks to the community for your patience during this essential project.

Shelby Golf Course

Due to extensive damage from the tornado on March 3 and the subsequent removal of dozens of large trees, the Shelby Park Golf Course will remain closed for several more months. Repair to the clubhouse, irrigation system, cart paths, and turfgrass will continue throughout the summer. A timeline for reopening has not been set by Metro Parks.

Volunteering - pandemic edition

Thanks to everyone who participated in the #TRASHTAG challenge! The park got a little cleaner, and the prizes helped support some great local businesses.

Increased use of the park has left a lot of litter. Be a Friend of Shelby and help us keep the park clean. If you are looking for a way to help out in the park, there is always an opportunity for #trashtag

As Nashville begins to reopen, Friends of Shelby continues to evaluate the safety of restarting volunteer work in the park. Please take this 1-minute survey about our program.

Big Payback A Huge Success!

What an amazing day! With your help Friends of Shelby crushed our $10,000 goal and raised over $18,000 during the Big Payback.

Now the goal to Complete the Loop is that much closer. Bell & Associates will build the pedestrian bridge this summer as Friends of Shelby works with the city to design and coordinate construction of the primitive trail. This success belongs to everyone in the community who came together for the safety of all park users! Thank you.
