Park Updates
Davidson and Shelby Drive Bridges
The Davidson and Shelby Park Drive bridges are nearly complete with guard rail installation happening now and final paving to follow shortly. At Davidson St. the last step will be installing bollards and pavement markings for bicycle and pedestrian lanes in both directions. The bridges will tentatively reopen next Wednesday, October 7.
Sevier Lake Loop
It's only been a month since our last update and already the gravel trail is complete giving park users another 950 feet of separated trail! The next step is working with Metro Parks to determine the best route for the final 1000 feet. Thanks to our friends at W&A Engineering for helping us with a survey of the final stretch.

Board Member Spotlight
Ronald Gooch is Mr. East Nashville
Shelby Park has been in my life since the beginning; playing baseball at Shelby Park in the Jess Neely Baseball League and football through P.A.L. (Police Athletic League), my passion and love of community began there.
I love East Nashville. While working as the Community Outreach and Fundraising Director for the Margaret Maddox Family YMCA, I also chair the board of the East Nashville Chamber of Commerce and coach baseball with East Nashville Athletics.
Now as a Friends of Shelby board member I am excited to work on improving a park that has brought me and my family so much joy throughout the years and engage with neighbors so that the benefits of the park can be realized by all members of our community.

Show your love of Shelby Park and Bottoms with a membership that supports the park year-round.
