Through your generosity, we empower dedicated volunteers who maintain trails, remove litter, and care for our natural spaces; fund beautification and restoration projects that keep the park welcoming and thriving; and strengthen our advocacy efforts to protect this treasured resource for future generations. Your support also makes it possible to host inclusive community events that bring people together, celebrate the park, and inspire environmental stewardship.

Membership FAQs
I just signed up for membership. How do I get my swag?
You can pick up your swag at any Friends of Shelby event or at the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center. Be sure to visit during regular hours to collect the items included with your membership level.
Can I upgrade my membership to a higher level?
Yes! To update your payment information online, login to your giving portal here. Be sure to use the same email address that you used when first signing up for your membership! If you need assistance, please contact us.
I’m a member. How do I claim my discounts at events?
After signing up for membership, you’ll receive a digital membership card and a welcome letter with details of your membership. Simply show this card on your mobile device at events to access your discounts.
What if I want to cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership at any time by logging into your account and stopping your recurring donation schedule or by reaching out to us directly for help.
How will I know when it’s time to renew my membership?
Memberships renew automatically through your recurring donation. If your payment method changes or fails, we’ll notify you via email to update it and continue your membership.
Can I purchase a gift membership for someone else?
Absolutely! Gift memberships can be arranged through our website or by contacting us directly.
Are my membership dues tax-deductible?
Yes! Your membership dues are considered a charitable contribution and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
I donated to Friends of Shelby this year. Does that make me a member?
One-time donations do not qualify as a membership. Membership requires an automatically recurring donation.
I donated to Friends of Shelby during the Great Shelby Giveback. Am I a member?
No. We greatly appreciate your generosity, but membership is based on an automatically recurring donation.
I have a Friends of Shelby specialty license plate. Am I a member?
No. While we deeply value your support through the specialty plate program, we do not receive individual donor details from plate registrations and cannot extend membership perks based on this contribution.
