Y‍OUNG FRIENDS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY ‍

July 12th: YFS Ambassador Training Help us spread the joy of all that Shelby Park and Bottoms has to offer by joining our Ambassador program! Our Park Ambassadors help achieve our mission of preserving, enhancing and protecting the park by increasing our community outreach via tabling, events, and open houses. In this reoccurring volunteer program*, you will learn all there is to know about the park and FOS and share this valuable information with the public! Come meet fellow likeminded young adults who love Shelby Park and Bottoms. (*Only 2 Ambassador events attended per year to be considered active.)

JOIN THE YOUNG FRIENDS OF SHELBY

Young Friends of Shelby (YFS) is a new group for park lovers in their 20’s-30’s who want to connect, give back, and have a little fun along the way! Whether you're up for a volunteer day, making a friend at some of the free park programs, a group hike, or just grabbing a drink after work, YFS is a chance to meet new people and support the place we all love by becoming more involved here at Shelby Park & Bottoms. 

What to expect:

  • Quarterly meetups like social gatherings, happy hours, hikes, and casual get-togethers

  • Volunteer outings and service opportunities to help keep Shelby Park at its best

  • Behind-the-scenes tours and special events with our community

  • A low-key, fun way to give back and grow your local network

What we ask:

To join in on the fun, we ask that YFS participants consider becoming a member of Friends of Shelby. Your contributions will support our efforts to make Shelby Park & Bottoms the friendliest, best loved, and most accessible park in town! Membership is not a necessary requirement, let’s have some fun and all grow together.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

While we do not have any upcoming YFS Volunteer events scheduled at this time, Friends of Shelby always has options to dive in! Whether you want to grab a friend to do some landscaping or have a quiet morning with your audiobook for some trash pick-up, you can find all opportunities here.

Often there is no experience required, and all tools and necessary information will be provided on site. Bring a friend and help make a difference in the park we all love!
