Friends of Shelby is looking for someone with a passion for connecting kids to the great outdoors to join our team as the Environmental Education Coordinator. This part-time position will coordinate Friends of Shelby’s Park Explorer program under the supervision of the Director of Partnerships and Community Engagement. The Park Explorers program works to close the nature gap by helping underserved children at schools and partner organizations near the park connect with the natural world. Through field trips and in-school visits, this position will help Friends of Shelby bring students to the park and bring the park to students.

 OUR MISSION

To preserve, enhance, and promote Shelby Park and Bottoms 
for everyone to appreciate and protect.

Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms is working to create a world-class park, by restoring and preserving its historic importance, protecting its environmental resources and providing amenities for active and passive recreation for all the people who use the park. The parks are an oasis of green space in the heart of Nashville. In working to preserve and enhance the park, Friends of Shelby serves neighborhood and city residents, local businesses, schools, and other organizations, as well as all park visitors from both inside and outside the community.
