In 2023 Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms invites you to participate in three unique race events that are competitive, fun, encourage active lifestyles, and give back to the community.

This fun kayak, bike, run is a single-distance event that celebrates the search for the mysterious bird in one of Nashville's most beloved parks, Shelby Park and Bottoms.
Participants kayak the Cumberland River, bike Shelby Bottoms, and run back through the park.
Everyone is welcome to this noncompetitive event where we get a little wacky and costumes are encouraged!
Proceeds for this event support Friends of Shelby and Walk Bike Nashville

This fast, fun race takes you through the primitive trails of Shelby Bottoms! Completely flat, this race is perfect for those wanting to try out trail racing for the first time or those looking to throw down a personal record.
The race starts and finishes at the iconic Cornelia Fort Airpark before hitting the well-groomed primitive trails of Shelby Bottoms!

FULL BELLY 5K AND FUN RUN

Saturday, November 30
The fourth annual Full Belly Friends of Shelby 5K and Fun Run is East Nashville’s Thanksgiving weekend tradition.
We will be raising money and collecting food for neighbors in need. Thanks to our Title Sponsor Eddie Ferrell, we will donate an additional 10 lb of produce and $50 to Martha O’Bryan Center food bank for every team of 10 or more!
The race will begin and end at the Shelby Park Events Field.
